Why will you love this recipe:

Everyone loves to chew Puppy Chow, but I have changed things to use corn popcorn instead of cereal Chex for a snack of this world that will love the whole family.

If you are not familiar with Puppy Chow, also known as Muddy Buddies, it is usually the Chex cereal that is coated with a mixture of peanut butter and chocolate, and then covered with powdered sugar. You really can’t make mistakes when peanut butter and chocolate are combined, and that layer of powdered sugar really carries it over.

My best tips:

  • Bowl size: Use the biggest bowl you can find to launch corn popcorn! A large bowl makes it much easier to make sure the puppy chow is completely covered with the chocolate peanut butter mixture, as well as powdered sugar. I also recommend using a rubber spatula here to avoid crushing corn palomites too much.
  • POPCORN: You will need approximately 10 cups of corn popcorn for this recipe, but it depends on you how it covers it. Feel free to do your thing with approximately 1/2 cup of nuclei, use a microwave bag or buy previous corn pops. Just be sure to eliminate unopened nuclei.
  • Microwave: I recommend chocolate microwaves, peanut butter and butter in intervals of 30 seconds, then stirring in the middle. This ensures that everything melts evenly and becomes perfectly soft.
  • Coat evenly: Be sure to completely cover corn popcorn in the chocolate mixture. This is what sugar will be adhered to powder. I find that if you have a bowl with a lid, it may be easier to appear the lid and shake instead of the Lord.
  • COOLING: It is important to let this puppy cool completely before storing. If you store it while it is still hot, powdered sugar will dissolve and corn popcorn will lose that crunchy texture.
  • Storage: You can store this meal for corn popcosses in a hermetic container at the counter for up to 3 days, but I doubt that it lasts so long! If you want this to last longer, keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
